AHEAD HANDAL was commissioned by a German industrial electronics company following an internal alert triggered by an anonymous letter received by the HR Manager. The letter alleged that a recently resigned senior executive (Subject) had a history of manipulation, falsified credentials and unethical conduct during tenure in previous organizations.
Recognizing the potential risk to organizational integrity and future hiring processes, Client engaged AHEAD HANDAL to conduct a discreet, full-spectrum investigation into Subject’s professional background, behavior, and prior employment history.
We deployed a pretext approach: a controlled undercover technique where investigators, under credible professional identities, engaged former employers, supervisors, and colleagues of Subject.
These structured conversations were designed to elicit unguarded perspectives on Subject’s character, leadership demeanor, and workplace ethics, while maintaining complete discretion regarding the true intent of the inquiry.
The exercise revealed that over 70% of Subject’s information in her resume were not true, including exaggerated experiences and fabricated achievements.Intelligence obtained through pretext engagements confirmed a pattern of ethical breaches and behavioral manipulation, with evidence of prior dismissals and disciplinary actions intentionally omitted from disclosure. The findings also identified consistent behavioral markers, i.e. coercion, reputational sabotage, and strategic deceit aligning with the internal issues Client had observed during Subject’s tenure.
